The 2.9-liter DOHC inline-six was first offered in 1953 for the DB2/4 saloon and was based on an earlier 2.6-liter design.Removed from a 1956 Aston Martin DB 2/4 MKII and subsequently refurbished. It then served as a spare engine for a race car. The block is painted red, and the cylinder head, cam covers, timing chain cover, oil pan, and porcelain-coated exhaust headers are intact. This Aston Martin 2.9-liter DOHC inline-six is said to have been refurbished for use as a spare engine for a race car and retains its cylinder head, timing chain cover, camshaft covers, and exhaust manifolds.
